Pine Mountain Music is hosting an instrument drive!

Your support today could inspire a student tomorrow!

We’re hosting an instrument drive through 2026!

Join us in our effort to make playing instruments more accessible to our local students!

We at Pine Mountain Music serve a diverse group of students within school programs and directly at our shop. A circumstance that is always particularly evident for our students is the inaccessibility of instruments for them to learn to play on. Musical instruments are notoriously expensive and require several accessories to keep them functioning properly. Your support could help a student in need! Donating an instrument today may inspire a student who one day performs on the Grand Ole Opry! Even if your instrument is broken, we may be able to fix it! We’re willing to fix it for free to get it in the hands of one of our students! Stop-in and let us take a look at your instrument! A few examples of instruments our students are interested in learning include electric and acoustic guitars, pianos, basses, drums, banjos, fiddles, dulcimers, mandolins, and ukuleles. We will also accept brass and woodwind instruments such as trumpets, trombones, flutes, clarinets, saxophones, as well as their accessories such as cases, oils, etcetera. Donations of brass or woodwind instruments will be passed along directly to our local middle and high school band programs! Instruments are especially expensive for school marching and concert band programs and participants. Donating your old instrument today could help local band programs flourish even further in the future!

We’re also extending our efforts to accept donations of vinyl albums, cassettes, compact discs, record players, tape players, amplifiers, speakers, and both instrument and sound accessories such as picks, strings, microphones, cases, cables, capos, straps, sticks, etcetera. If any of these items are non-functioning or broken, we may still be able to use them in enrichment activities with students we serve in our programs!

Your support today could help a student tomorrow! The parameters of our instrument drive do not include direct monetary donations at this time. Additionally, instrument donations are non tax-deductible at this time. Visit our website for more information or contact us directly at (276) 365-8685 or pinemtnmusic@gmail.com

Why it's important.

Playing a musical instrument is not only a fun way to connect with others. It’s an enriching way to channel one’s emotions in a deeply tactile sort of way. Learning a musical instrument is also a versatile and expressive activity that anyone can learn! We know that there are very few extracurricular activities for area youth and we intend to offer alternatives! Donating an instrument to our program will ensure a student has the ability to participate in learning!
